Welcome to our parish, especially if you are visiting. Feel free to stay for a cup of tea or coffee read the web site and get to know the parish. The tea, coffee and sugar are all Fairtrade. We have been accepted as a fairtrade parish as part of our covenant with the poor. Fairtrade gives poor communities an opportunity to improve their lives by better healthcare and schooling and provide them with a more sustainable environment.

On the North East this parish adjoins the parish at Addingham
the Silsden boundary mark.
On the South East it adjoins the parish of St. Anne, Keighley - halfway between the Steeton and Keighley boundaries.
On the South East it adjoins Colne.
On the North East it adjoins the parish of St.Stephen, Skipton the village of Bradley is in the parish of St.Stephen, Skipton.
Geographically this is two parishes.

We will be launching Our Covenant with the Poor on Sunday 5 July with a Traidcraft stall in Carmel House and information on this year's theme - CAFOD's Climate Justice Campaign. This campaign asks us to stand alongside the the world's poorest communities who are already experiencing increased floods, droughts and extreme weather conditions due to climate change. During the two weeks there will be the usual events such as Bingo, Coffee Morning, BBQ, and Social Evening. In the 'Call of Creation' the Catholic Bishop's Conference of England and Wales said: "Individual actions may seem insignificant but together the small steps of many people can have an astonishing impact"Our Covenant with the Poor starts next Sunday 5 July: This year's theme is CAFOD's Climate Justice Campaign. Margaret is about to start her fast for CAFOD – she needs your support.
These are the dates for your diaries:
Sunday 5 July: Launch of Campaign, Traidcraft stall after 11 o'clock mass in Carmel House and Margaret Waterhouse will be taking the names of sponsors for her 24 hour fast.
Sunday 12 July: Annual BBQ at the Lloyd's (12 Banklands Avenue). Please take a ticket if you would like to come since it helps with the catering.
Saturday 18 July: Coffee Morning with Cake Stall and raffle in Carmel House.
There will also be a Bingo Night and Social Evening - the dates to be confirmed.
Prizes for the Bingo and Coffee Morning would be appreciated.

Visit of the Relics of St. Therese of Lisieux to the Diocese of Leeds. The next meeting regarding the Visit of the Relics of St. Therese will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 30 June 2009 at Wheeler Hall, Leeds.
The meeting is for anyone who is interested in learning more about the Visit of the Relics of St.Therese and updating everyone with the plans which have so far been made in preparation for the visit. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
Remember that when a Catholic is admitted to hospital it is essential that they are recorded as a Catholic on their medical records AND that this information is passed onto the Catholic Chaplain. Otherwise, due to Data Protection regulations the Chaplain will be unaware of their presence

Safeguarding Matters
Workshop on the new vetting & barring scheme bv Adrian child & sally Robinson of CSAS
Parish representatives are invited to a 2-hour event on the new Vetting and Barring Scheme which comes into effect in October this year.
This workshop will include specifics around how this Scheme will impact on the Church, for example what roles will require Vetting and Barring Scheme registration; how the registration scheme will impact on parish activities on a practical level; form completion and process requirements.
